I am delighted to report that rehearsals for Aladdin have been progressing well. The principal characters have settled into their roles really nicely and the chorus of dancers and singers, under the able direction of choreographer Crissie Field, have been working hard to perfect the musical numbers.
Work on the set, under the watchful eye of stage manager Bill Evans, is also in full swing. Involving both scenery construction and painting, this is a huge task and I am very grateful to Bill for taking it on again.
As you can probably imagine, a panto relies on being a colourful spectacle and once again our wonderful wardrobe team of Hazel Evans and Marilyn McClelland have been busy sorting, adjusting and, where necessary, making costumes.
Panto is nothing without music and James Field has been working hard to create both music and sound effects. Meanwhile, our lighting team of Ollie Heath and Paul Robinson have been planning assiduously.
I think it is fair to say that there is a huge amount of work that needs to be undertaken in order to put any panto on the stage. We are lucky enough to have a fabulous team, both on and behind the stage, to present this production to the public. My thanks goes to all of them.
I hope that you will come along and join us at Loddon Hall on the 16th to 18th of January for one of our evening performances or matinees, because without your support we would not be able to continue. I look forward to seeing you there!
